Lenticular print_Thingstätte Waldbühne Berlin 2023

50 x 60 cm
Throughout Germany in the 1930s, the National Socialists built open-air stages for propaganda events. They were called Thingstätten (Thing Places). This was a historical falsification of an ancient Germanic tradition. Among the Germanic tribes, a thing was an assembly and trial, an early form of democracy.
The Berlin Waldbühne was built as a Thingstätte for the 1936 Olympics.
This lenticular print is made up of 2 photographs, a historical photograph from 1936 and an aerial photograph from 2022.
